News from E3

The official website for the World of Warcraft, WorlfofWarcraft.com, has an update with the following news I figured would be of interest. We may be expanding to offer World of Warcraft news more often, we'll see how it goes. Here's a snippet from the official website:

"It's official - the Draenei will be joining forces with the Alliance in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade! We've prepared a massive update of our Burning Crusade mini-site, including a detailed history of the Draenei and a brand-new expansion gameplay trailer. You should definitely check it out if you want to learn more about the history of the new race and their connection to the insidious Eredar, the evil masterminds leading the Burning Crusade.

We have also released new information about the other expansion race, the power-hungry Blood Elves. The history of the Blood Elves details how the exiled highborne arrived in Lordaeron, how the first alliance between High Elves and Humans was forged, and how the dark destiny of the Blood Elves finally became manifest in the aftermath of the Third War.

Our E3 update also includes news about Naxxramas, the new raid dungeon that will be opened with the next content patch for World of Warcraft. Check out our Naxxramas E3 gameplay trailer to get a first glimpse of the cursed necropolis! And last but not least, there are new expansion screenshots on the Burning Crusade website and new wallpapers available for download in our media section. "

- Check out more about the new Burning Crusade race here!

- Here is the information on the Blood Elves as well.

Male Draenei Dance

In the World of Warcraft expansion pack, The Burning Crusade, the new Alliance characters you will be able to play are called the Draenei. Here's is a short shakycam video showing some of their dancing abilitys taken from the popular Indian sensation Daler Mendhi, specifically "Tunak Tunak Tun" (his video became one of the more popular ones to watch on the internet because it's just that awesome).

Without further ado, here are the Draenei's dance and a bit more from the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Blade.

The Burning Crusade footage + FLYING MOUNTS!

With E3 well under way and announcements flying in at a record pace, we're running across plenty of videos showing the new class for the Alliance side coming with the Burning Crusade expansion. We also have other surprises to show like in this video you can see the flying mounts toward the end which apparantly work only in the new World of Warcraft expansion pack zones, but not the original World of Warcraft areas.

WoW Rise of the Living Dead

A nicely done movie with a great little story to go along with it. The Alliance are just trying to enjoy their lives inside the World of Warcraft, but the pesky dead won't allow that. Something must be done!

Big Blue Dress

A very well put together little video of a mage kicking butt yet wondering why he is forced to wear such girly looking dresses while kicking said butts. They did a good job of choreographing the video with the music in this World of Warcraft movie, I suggest giving it a look-see!

Ragefire Chasm Fun

Ragefire Chasm is the first instance the Horde normally go through if they don't choose to skip it and go straight to the Wailing Caverns. Found inside the city of Orgrimmar, the Ragefire Chasm offers a decent challenge to beginning players and shows them the basic structure of an instance complete with a portal you enter to get into it, a few groups of mobs, a few bosses, and a handful of quests of different types. This high level mage decides to have a bit of fun inside Ragefire by grouping the major mob groups together for mass slaughter. This actually gives me an idea for another movie which I may reveal on another day - for now, enjoy this fine World of Warcraft clip!

Excited to be 60

Getting to level 60 takes a bit of time and work playing the game and this guy is *very* excited to finally reach it! Watch as he loses his mind after reaching level 60 in the World of Warcraft! (May want to turn speakers down first.)

The Chicken Quest

The Alliance can do a special quest in order to obtain a Chicken pet (just for looks) which involes "talking" to a chicken a few times until it offers up the quest! Yes, it sounds crazy, but watch the video and see for yourself!

Priest Mind Control Fun!

Priest's in the World of Warcraft have a special ability called "Mind Control" which, as the name would suggest, allows you to take control of other players and even Non-Player Characters (NPC's). In this video, you can see an Alliance priest at the entrance to a popular Battleground mind controlling a Horde NPC and then attacking Horde with him. The Horde must be very surprised as the Priest stays out of site while controlling the NPC and well, normally, this NPC doesn't just up and start attacking! Very funny stuff!

Strat Dead Baron Run in 45 Minutes

This video (with text not in English) shows how to run through the instance named Stratholm Dead in the World of Warcraft in under 45 minutes. They do it in 34 mins. to be exact. It's edited up to show the view from two different players in the run and offers a great video tutorial of sorts in how to achieve this run.

For those that may not understand why this is important, a whole set of armor came out as an upgrade to older armor that requires this to be done at one point. These guys do a very impressive job to say the least, coming from someone who has personally ran this instance tons of times and never anywhere close to this time. I've not been able to complete it in under 1 hour even.

Funeral Bombing

This one is sure to provoke mixed reactions! In this World of Warcraft clip, we see one guild having a funeral in-game for a member of thiers that passed in real life. The Priest the player played like to fish so someone in their guild logged into her account and began fishing while the rest of the guild and others lined up to show thier in-game respects near her favorite lake. This funeral was announced on the official world of Warcraft forums to everyone on the server. Which happens to be a Player vs Player server, which only equals one thing - a recipe for disaster. Another guild, "Serenity Now" (yay, Sienfeld!) decides to invade and bomb the living hell out of the players gathered to pay respects, earning themselves a bit of Honor Kill points and a bad reputation with many others.

Kind of slow to get into with it's setup but really picks up around four minutes in. The beginning comments are comments posted about Serenity Now after the raid on the funeral.

The Blackrock Depths Shortcut

Normally, to get into one of the higher instances in the game named "Blackrock Depths", you have to go along these huge chains and make your way to a rock suspended over hot magma, down into it and then back out, across another chain to a lower level that leads to the instance entrance. In this video, I took my 60 mage "Bleoo" and made a two-parter showing how to get down to the lower level a bit quicker without having to go into the middle suspended rock. This is a well known path to many of the more seasoned players, but may help out a few folks I figured. It's essentially my first WoW movie and the start of more to come with different subject matter and things to show that I have found out in my time playing the World of Warcraft.

WoW on G4TV

This clip is from G4's show "Cheat!" and shows a few of the more secret quests within the game including the Chicken Quest and the Zelda Link Quest. I remember catching this on TV and thought it had some pretty cool info, click play and watch it yourself; now on the internet.

World of Warcraft GM Power

The GM's of World of Warcraft (the human players that work for Blizzard and act as assistants/police in-game) get some awesome gear and can visit special places. This video, made while playing on an unofficial server, shows what gear, places, and overall commands the GM's get. He can even spawn giant bosses and kill them with a simple command as well. Impressive!

World of Offline Gaming

What happens when players play too much World of Warcraft and it bleeds into real life - or - a great little movie showing a bit of what happens in the World of Warcraft in real life situations. Either way, it's a great, funny clip and I recommend you all click Play and enjoy!

Fun with Bots

Like most every game, the World of Warcraft has it's fair share of people that try to cheat the system. Some use exploits, others use bots as seen in this video, but remember all that are caught get banned and Blizzard has recently banned thousands of accounts for stuff like what is seen in this video. A bot is essentially a script that runs alongside the World of Warcraft game telling your character to do certain instructions automatically, without you even needing to be at the computer. Things like attack, heal, loot, look for new monster. When two Horde fellas stumble on an Alliance bot, they decide to have some fun with it!

Return

This is one of the best, if not *the* best movie I have seen for the game in any catagory. I was saving this one for later, but it's being presented now by popular demand.

From Google Video:

"Return" is the tale of Voldigar of Stromgarde, a grizzled warrior finally returning to his beloved home and bride only to find his past in ruins.

Utilizing the World of Warcraft game engine and lore, film-makers Terran "Liadov" Gregory and Ezra "Voldigar" Ferguson take Machinima down the road of the classic cinematic fantasy epic. This short tale is hopefully only a herald of much more to come.

2005 Machinima Film Festival * Winner, Best Off The Shelf Machinima * Nominee, Best Direction * Nominee, Best Writing * Nominee, Best Editing

Blizzcon Movie Contest (2005) * Winner

GUARDS

A great parody on the COPS tv show, GUARDS details a day in the life of a Guard in the World of Warcraft. Some nice editing and great role playing work done in this clip by "ibeckman671".

Explorers Guide to the Galaxy

If you need one video to show you all of the more secret areas of the World of Warcraft you can explore, this is the one. It's got near everything covered, including underneath Stratholm, Ironforge Airport, beyond the Greymane Wall, placeholders for the game, and tons more to a rocking soundtrack. The movie weighs in at over 25 minutes long so get the popcorn out and enjoy this long and awesome movie.

The Amazing Race

In the World of Warcraft, you can take flights on creatures to other cities to ease the time it takes to travel to and from. In this video we see a Tauren Shaman on a flight path being raced by a Hunter who is exploiting a bug in the game to achieve a very high rate of runspeed. The flight goes from the main city of Orgrimmar all the way south to the trade city of Gadgetzan; click play to watch it as I won't dare spoil the ending:

Touch the Bell in Booty Bay

Some places are hard to reach and require a bit of tricky footwork, jumping around, and exploration in the World of Warcraft. Check out this video showing how to reach the bell in Booty Bay (a town shared by both, the Horde and Alliance). Betcha didn't even know there *was* a bell in Booty Bay, did you?? Well, just watch and prepare to be amazed.

Getting on top of Orgrimmar

This is also how those pesky Alliance sneak "under" Orgrimmar and drive us Horde crazy with thier yells. Quite an interesting place to visit as you can see by watching this video, something changes when you take the normal route vs. this one to visit Orgrimmar in the World of Warcraft.

Warlock Farming in Dire Maul

"Farming" is the term given to the act of gaining items or loots through strategic or repetitive actions. Say, sticking around a certain area killing enemy mob after mob, reaping in the coin and loot they drop over and over. Or, in this case, being a Warlock and heading to an instance named Dire Maul to farm a highly sought after item, the Libram of Focus. It takes a bit of strategy and alot of patience, but the item you gain in the efforts is well worth it and worth a bit of coin at the in-game Auction House.

Warlock's aren't the only class to be able to do this either, we may have videos up of hunters and mage's doing this as well with their own methods.

The Plague In Orgrimmar

Back in Sept. 2005, a plague hit the major cities in the form of a damaging spell named "Corrupted Blood" that came from a high level instance. How it worked is like this - The spell used to cause 200 damage every 2 seconds and pass itself to anyone else nearby on your side. One person would become infected with the damaging spell and then Hearth (or "warp") back to a main city and infect everyone around them, who in turn infected everyone around them, and so on and so forth until the entire city was infected. Fun times while it lasted and caused for some interested effects, but this spell was eventually toned down to only afflict the person infected and not nearby friends.

More info can be found here at Wikipedia concerning this plague.

World of Paladincraft III

One of the highlights of this clip is the Paladin going into Orgrimmar with 12 healers. Orgrimmar is a main city of the Horde and a Paladin is one of the strongest classes overall that the Alliance has. There is much more to this video clocking in at over 15 minutes showing just how much Paladin's kick ass.

Kazzak Invades Stormwind

Kazzak, a major Demon, has decided to invade the Alliance city of Stormwind. Most likely pulled there by a player, he doles out death like a Las Vegas blackjack dealer. With his awesome strength and insane spells, he lays waste to near everything in his path.

World of Warcraft Trailer

This trailer was shown on the Warcraft 3 CD and while it shows no actual in-game footage, still contains some kickass CGI.

Apple Ad Switch Spoof

Paladin's get no love! This is a take on the Apple "Switch" advertisements where a frustrated Paladin makes the change and becomes a Shaman, where he is given more attention and can do more. It's rather true, Paladin's seem to have only a few moves while Shaman's can do a whole assortment of things and lay down totems that affect his nearby group. The favorite move of a Paladin is the Shield+Hearthstone move which teleports them back home and out of danger. It's either that or a Shield+Runaway I've seen most. :D Poor, Paladins. Just make the switch already.

Coke/World of Warcraft Advert

This overseas Coke advertisement has a World of Warcraft tie-in with some nice effects. Ok the chicks in the outfits don't look too shabby either. An interesting mix of advertising for two hugely popular products.

A Dragon in Ironforge

In this video, we see an Alliance Druid working the art of the pull and drag by getting a high level dragon, Teremus, to follow her all the way to a capitol city, Ironforge. This dragon is much too high a level for one person to tackle alone, even the guards of the city are having trouble with it. Watch the peaceful city turn to mayhem as Teremus enters and destroys everything in it's path!

Various World of Warcraft Clips

This is a decently put together video showing a compilation of clips of an Alliance Mage exploring and fighting around the land. It's got some cool video game music to go along with it too and gives you a small taste of whats inside the World of Warcraft.

Deadmines Secret

The World of Warcraft has miles and miles of places to journey to and explore, sometimes those places aren't meant to be found. Like this little exploit used to visit a very strange area with mystical effects and other eyecandy to make you wonder even more about what's possibly to come. Is this a peice of a work in progress to be released later? Or some old, given up on area that never made it in the full game? Maybe it's just a mish-mash of data, remanents of experimental testings from the labs of Blizzard.. Either way, the Deadmines "blink exploit" is very interesting to say the least no matter it's purpose.

How this is done, btw, is a Mage can use his "blink" ability (which transports him in the direction he is facing about 20-30 yds.) to go through the entrance portal once you are inside the instance to go beyond and into an area not meant for exploration. Once you are on the side not meant for human consumption, you can journey onward as seen in the video above. Again, very interesting!

Dance, baby, dance!!

This little video is dedicated to the dancing in the World of Warcraft! Each character has a different style of dancing, and even the females differ from the males. Check out some of the different styles in this entertaining spot:

Internet is for Porn!

This is a very well done clip done to the "Internet is for Porn" song with some great matching up of animations and emotes from the World of Warcraft game. The song is from a funny series that takes childrens shows to an adult level and tries to teach us that the Internet is for more than just porn! No, really, it is!! Right?? There is no nudity or sex in this video clip.

(Click Play)

To start things off..

Probably the most famous WoW video to date is the "Leroy Jenkins" movie as seen below. It starts off with a group of players from the same faction attempting to defeat a major boss. The room they are about to enter is full of eggs that when touched spawn even more enemies to fight. There are certain things one must do when playing the World of Warcraft and fighting bosses; in this video, everything is done wrong. The talking is done by the leader of the group, explaining a certain strategy they could follow, talking about who will get what loot, and then even going into details on percents and even deeper statistics concerning the fight. A member of the team, Leroy Jenkins, suddenly stands up and I'll let the video speak for itself.

To Note: This *is* a setup. This is an example of what *not* to do when fighting a major enemy. HUGE damage is done to the team, wiping all of them out. Very funny and now a WoW classic and mainstay, this video is going to be our first posted here and we hope you enjoy!
